Physicians Specialists
Our physicians are specialists with extensive expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of asthma, allergies, and other immunological disorders. While other physicians may offer allergy treatments, they do not have the benefit of years of specialized training in evaluating, diagnosing, and treating these conditions. Allergy specialists are also the only physicians properly trained in performing and interpreting allergy skin tests. While many other doctors offer allergy testing and care, they are neither board certified nor is this their area of expertise.
Advanced Training
After earning a medical degree, an allergist completes a three-year residency-training program in either internal medicine or pediatrics. Next, an allergist completes two or three more years of study in the field of allergy and immunology.
Board Certified Physicians
David L. Schneider, MD, Sweta Shah, MD, and Jeffery Franklin, MD are certified by the American Board of Allergy and Immunology and each physician participates in the rigorous and ongoing professional development and education required by the board's Maintenance of Certification program. This ensures that we continue to provide the best possible care for our patients
Systemic Treatment Approach
Individuals may encounter a number of clinical manifestations caused by the same allergic sensitization. Because our knowledge is not limited to one area like a pulmonologist to the heart, dermatologist to the skin, or ear, nose, and throat (ENT) physician, we can evaluate and address issues as a whole with a more systemic approach to treatment. Many of our patients were unable to lead active lifestyles due to a fear of worsening their asthma or allergies before coming to us. Our ability to pinpoint and treat these triggers lets patients find relief and live life to the fullest.
